Using your own domain

Send emails, links and forms from your own domain so customers see your brand.

Overview

Your AI assistant sends customers emails, forms and WhatsApp chat links. By default these come from Entagl addresses, like go.entagl.com. Connect a domain your business owns and they come from you instead, for example go.yourbusiness.com. Find it under Settings → Domains. You'll need to sign in to the place where you manage your domain (often the company you bought it from) and add a few records. Most people are done in about 10 minutes.

Features

Send emails from your domain

Emails your AI sends come from an address on your domain, like hello@yourbusiness.com, and look exactly like one you wrote yourself. You add three CNAME records once.

Links and forms on your domain

Forms and WhatsApp chat links your AI shares use a short sub-address of your domain, like go.yourbusiness.com. You add one TXT record that proves the domain is yours and one CNAME record that sends the links to us. We then set up the security padlock for you.

What the statuses mean

Waiting for DNS records: we can't see your records yet. Working: customers now see your domain. Checking… temporary problem: our last check didn't finish, but everything still works and we'll try again. Needs attention: something changed at your DNS provider. New links use our address until you fix it, and links you already sent with your domain may not open. Off: you turned it off.

Who can change what

Everyone on your team can open this page and see how your domains are doing. Only the account owner, admins and team members with the Integrations privilege can connect, change or remove a domain.

Common tasks

Connect your domain

About 10 min
  1. Go to Settings → Domains and press Connect a domain.
  2. Type your domain, like yourbusiness.com. You don't need https:// or www.
  3. Choose what to use it for: Send emails from this domain, Use it for links and forms, or both. For links you can keep the sub-address go or pick your own.
  4. Press Continue. You'll see a table of records. Copy each one into your DNS provider's settings with the same type, name and value. The copy buttons next to each value help.
  5. Come back and press Check again. New records can take a few minutes to show, sometimes up to an hour. The page also checks by itself while you wait.

Turn off or remove a domain

About 2 min
  1. Go to Settings → Domains and press Manage next to the domain.
  2. Press Turn off under emails or links to stop just that part. Press Remove domain at the bottom to stop using the domain completely.
  3. Confirm. Links you already sent with this address will stop opening.

Tips

Not sure where your DNS settings are? Search your domain provider's help pages for "DNS records" or "manage DNS". It's usually in your domain's settings.
Don't use www or mail as the sub-address for links. Those usually run your website and email, and changing them could break them.
If your domain was connected to another Entagl account before, you can still add it. We'll ask you to add one TXT record to prove it's yours.
