Read Receipts & Typing
Show a 'seen' receipt and a typing indicator — only while your AI is actively handling a chat.
Overview
These two presence signals make your AI feel more human on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger. Read receipts (the 'seen' mark) are off by default; the typing indicator is on by default. Both are only ever sent for conversations the AI is actively handling — never when a conversation is paused (a cooldown or a human takeover), so a paused chat never looks like it was seen and ignored.
Features
Read receipts ('seen')
Marks the customer's message as seen when the AI reads it. Off by default — turn it on when you want customers to know their message was received.
Typing indicator
Shows a typing bubble while the AI writes its reply, so responses feel more human. On by default.
Active conversations only
Both signals appear only while the AI is actively handling a chat — never when the conversation is paused (a cooldown, or you've taken it over) or when the channel's AI is turned off.

Turn read receipts and the typing indicator on or off
About 1 min- Open the sidebar → Configuration → Agent Configuration → General.
- Scroll to Read Receipts & Typing.
- Toggle Send read receipts and Show typing indicator on or off. Each change saves automatically.
