Questions
The honest questions.
Where is Intercom the stronger choice?
Intercom is the better fit if you run a support desk. It has ticketing and a public help center, Fin answers on SMS, Slack and Discord as well as email and web chat, and its shopping agent works with WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce in web chat. It also costs less to start: one Essential seat is $29 a month billed yearly and Fin is $0.99 per outcome, charged at most once per conversation, while Entagl's list price is higher. Entagl is built for service and retail businesses that sell in DMs: one AI that answers, books appointments and replies to comments, with phone calls handled by Coordinator, a separate Entagl product.
What happens when a customer sends several messages in a row, or someone on my team steps in?
Intercom's Fin FAQ says a customer who sends many quick messages in a row gets an answer only to the most recent one. The same FAQ says you can't reassign a conversation to Fin from the teammate inbox; a teammate has to trigger a reusable workflow, and Workflows are not included on the Essential plan. Entagl waits a short window you set (8 seconds by default), groups what came in and answers once. When a person on your team replies, the AI pauses for that chat and resumes by itself after the time you choose.
Can Entagl take calls and bookings the way Fin does?
Intercom says Fin Voice is limited to select customers working with its sales team and sold on a custom pricing plan, and its WhatsApp FAQ says the integration does not support phone calls. Fin books sales meetings through Calendly at $9.99 per booking. Entagl books real calendar slots in the chat at no per-booking fee and sends reminders. Phone and WhatsApp calls are answered and placed by Coordinator, a separate Entagl product with its own credits.
How should I compare total cost?
Compare the actual products and usage you need, including AI allowances, extra usage, optional add-ons, and applicable channel or calling charges. A comment-automation add-on and a customer-service messaging plan are different products. On WhatsApp, count Meta's own charge for replies too (after the first 1,000 a month since October 2026): on paid plans Entagl returns that cost as credits.
