Questions
The honest questions.
Where is Respond.io the stronger choice?
Respond.io covers more chat channels, including SMS, Viber and LINE, and its entry price is lower: AI Agents start on the Growth plan at $159 a month billed yearly with 10 users included, while Entagl's list price is higher. It is ISO 27001 certified, has a wait time setting that groups quick messages, passes Meta and TikTok ad details to its AI Agent, and its Copilot drafts agent changes for your approval. Entagl is built for a business that wants the AI itself to book the slot, with calls placed by Coordinator, a separate product.
What changes in a live chat when a teammate steps in or a customer asks for a quote?
In Respond.io a teammate clicks Takeover, and the help center says the AI Agent will not respond again unless the conversation is reassigned to it. In Entagl the AI pauses when a person replies, from the inbox or the WhatsApp or Instagram app, and resumes by itself after the time you set, 60 minutes by default. Before a quote, Entagl asks for the required details in the chat and will not quote until they are in; Respond.io collects them by prompt or workflow questions, and the only native form its help center lists is the pre-chat form on website chat. Off-limits topics in Respond.io are lines in the agent prompt, and Snippets are not supported as a knowledge source for AI Agents.
Can Respond.io's AI handle phone calls and bookings the way Entagl does?
Respond.io's AI Agent answers incoming calls only. Its help center says live call handling needs the Advanced plan, from $279 a month billed yearly, each call is capped at 3 minutes, and outbound calling is not supported. For bookings it shares links from outside tools such as Calendly or Cal.com, and you cannot create or edit meetings directly within respond.io. Entagl's Coordinator, a separate product with its own credits, answers and places calls, including confirmations, reminders and no-show win-backs, and you set the call length; the Receptionist books real calendar slots inside the chat.
How should I compare total cost?
Compare the actual products and usage you need, including AI allowances, extra usage, optional add-ons, and applicable channel or calling charges. A comment-automation add-on and a customer-service messaging plan are different products. On WhatsApp, count Meta's own charge for replies too (after the first 1,000 a month since October 2026): on paid plans Entagl returns that cost as credits.
